1. Herbal Remedies

TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) makes use of a very wide range of herbs, which include flowers, leaf stalks, seeds and roots. Most of the herbs used have been in common use for thousands of years. There are over 300 herbs in store and they are all authorised for use by the UK Department of Health.

Our TCM doctors prescribe a unique formula of herbs for the each patient’s needs after inspecting the patient in our traditional way: “Looking, Listening, Asking and Touching”. This will involve examining the patient’s tongue, feeling their pulse, taking their temperature and checking their (western) medical history. The prescribed herbs should be boiled according to the doctor’s instructions and drunk as an herbal drink.

We have over 300 herbal products in our store. They are all made from 100% natural herbs and can be sold over the counter. Our receptionists are also trained to give advice on the products.

2. Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a treatment method using extremely fine, sterile, disposable, single-use needles to stimulate points along the energy channels. It is remarkable in its effect on alleviating painful conditions and in combating nerve and stress problems, amongst others, through its decongestion and regulation of the energy channels. In the hands of a skilled practitioner, acupuncture is virtually painless.

3. Moxibustion and Cupping therapy and Medical massage (Tuina)

Moxibustion is an external treatment using mild heat from the ground herb Moxa (Folium Artemesia) over the acupuncture points. It is soothing and painless.

We also perform cupping therapy and medical massage. Medical massage can be effective in dealing with problems such as Periarthritis of the shoulder (frozen shoulder), Cervical Spondylosis (Stiff neck) and other muscular problems.
